How to change a material value into a humanitarian value?
For Iron I Gave Gold is a foundation that stimulates the discussion about the re-interpretation of contemporary values.
By selling (self-made) iron rings for the value of gold, the full profit supported children, working in artisan gold mines in northern Tanzania, by providing them a vocational training.
The foundation continues its aim to stop child labour in gold mines and to give those children the education for a safe and sustainable profession.
Antoinette Vonder Muehll (lives and works in Amsterdam) will talk about re-interpretation of values and will bring into context the historical, humanitarian and artistic aspects of her foundation.
