Klippa is an ambitious software scale-up that is now 8 years old. From our offices in Amsterdam, Groningen and Brasov (Romania) we work with about 80 specialists, half of which are developers, to build and sell technologically advanced SAAS solutions. Our domain is the fintech and accounting market, which we serve with our turnkey products (platform, web, app) as well as API-based solutions for claims and invoice processing, machine learning and data extraction (OCR). With these techniques, we help organizations in SMEs, financial institutions and governments digitize their current, analog processes. As a result, we realize major time and cost savings for and together with our customers. Our playing field worldwide is a very fast growing market with enormous opportunities. Klippa serves customers in 20 different countries and the team is therefore very international. For example, we have colleagues from the Netherlands, Germany, France, Mexico, Portugal and the UK. PhD student - Gregorio Linares Jimenez

Description

Currently I am in my 3rd year of the PhD, on the topic of the association Multimorbidity and Health literacy.

Health literacy is the degree to which anyone can access, read, understand and make use of medical information to keep or recover one's health. And multimorbidity is living with 2 or more chronical diseases. I am looking into how limited health literacy skills may increase people's chance to develop multimorbidity (From living with one or no disease, to living with two or more) or the chance of adding more diseases to people already living with multimorbidity.

I'm currently working on my PhD at the UMCG's Health Sciences Department. Specifically within the Public health research group. I am a medical doctor, I received my training and degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). I got here because during my years of Med school I had a great professors of Public Health which made me interested on following a career on this topic. And about 7 years I was able to join a Summer School at RUG where I first heard about Health literacy, I approached the head of this research group, followed some internships and finally applied for a PhD position.
